GRADUATION!!!

YEAH!!!
I'm Graduated!!! Okay, this is the point where everyone keeps asking if I'm any smarter or if I feel smarter. The honest answer. Not really. But, I do have a nice piece of paper that needs to be framed that cost ohhh $60,000 that says I have a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Let me just say that is one very expensive piece of paper. Do you think anyone on ebay would buy it? staring bid $60,001? any offers?

LOL, okay so I have my sense of humor but I must say I absolutely LOVED getting my Masters degree. I'm seriously thinking of going for my PhD. I've signed up right now for a few certificate classes. So who knows.

So graduation was last Saturday, May 14th, 2005. It rained the Saturday before, and it had of been the hottest day of the year on graduation day. The graduation ceremony was really nice, it was fun walkiing with my very best friends. I think we were talking dibs to see if we were going to pass out or who was sweating the most. But being a girl and all, I said I only slighly perspire, not sweat. But, let me say, I bought some really cute new shoes that matched my top in a green with little butterflies on the material. At the end of the cermony I couldn't walk they hurt so bad.
So on to the party. We had it at Steven's house since that was the only place that could accomadate 65 of us since the guys; three of them and me all threw a party together. Translation, they said Vicky thow us a graduation party, tell us how much to pay you afterwards. :) But it was fun. His backyard is like 1/2 an acre, so we had bocce ball, badmitton, basketball and we rented a jolly jump. That was my favorite. It was the big boxing ring. (never try to pick up the boxing gloves they are extremely heavy) and let me just say not us the graduates but our parents had so much fun jumping in it. It was quite funny.

So after all day in the heat, a nice full of fun, with family, friends, loved ones and just special people, it was time to call it a night. Now those thank you cards are on their way, I promise. really I promise. :)

Ben & Jerry's Fundraiser Posted by Hello

Ben & Jerry's

So we had a Ben & Jerry's fundraiser a month or two ago for the victims of the La Conchita mudslides. It was so much fun. We took the ERV (Emergency Recretional Vehicle) to the store front location. (let me just tell you riding in an ERV is like riding in a huge boat on wheels its so bumy and loud. and I wasn't aloud to play with the lights and sirens). We parked it outside of the Ben & Jerry's store as a big billboard telling people to come there. Oh, let me back up, the local newspaper in the county did an article about the fundraiser so everyone in town knew to come.
So, thanks to the HUGE generosity of the local show owner, we were able to scopp an ice cream cone and all proceeds benefited the American Red Cross's efforts for La Conchita.
The cool part is that Ben who is one of the founders of the company flew in from Virginia to participate in the fundraiser. Let me just say that he is one of the most down to earth individuials I have every met that is in the corporate world.

So needless to say after a long afternoon of selling people on buying ice cream, walking up to total strangers on our downtown main street convicing them to buy ice cream, I had the best time I've ever had.

I'll try to attach a few pictures!

Red Cross Gala Posted by Hello

Red Cross

So... I've decided to join the blog crowd.
What's new with me. I just finished wrapping up the post details for the Gala Event that I chaired for the American Red Cross - Ventura County Chapter the beginning of April. Wow! Let me just say that was one fun event. After a year of planning details, working with Corporate Sponsors, media outlets, social directors, society people and award recipients I'm all tired. But, after raising $75,000 I think it was a success. The event this year was held at Sherwood Country Club (where Tiger Woods has his charity golf tournament every year; Tom Selleck is the chair of the club) if was exciting. Lots of people came and even though I didn't get my signed t.v. show ER autographed scrub (it would of been nice to have Noah Wiley's signature) it was fun.
I'll see if I can figure out how to post a few pictures.
